KATHY YUEN / President, Phase One Design
Kathy Yuen is an Architectural Technologist and founder of Phase One Design, a residential design firm specializing in designing dream homes for homeowners across Canada with studio locations in Vancouver + Okanagan + Calgary. Her humble roots began when she started working on construction sites, managing trades and projects as a Project Manager.
In 2006, she decided to pursue her dream of designing custom homes. Phase One Design was born. Since then, Kathy and her team have helped over 700 homeowners design their dream homes. Their work can be seen from Victoria to Nova Scotia and has been recognized for countless awards (30 finalist nominations, won 12 awards). Their designs have been featured in numerous publications across Canada.
Kathy is a well-recognized business leader, public speaker, and educator for the design and custom home community. She has spearheaded many community initiatives such as educational seminars, and regular stage appearances, founded the YouTube Channel “Dream Homes with Kathy” and has been nominated twice for RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. Outside of the office, Kathy is passionate about volunteering for non‐profit causes including Horizon Housing Society, Habitat for Humanity, and the Mustard Seed.

JUSTIN WARTHE / Owner, New Builds Calgary
Justin was born into a Real Estate oriented family. Both his grandfathers had a diverse amount of experience with rental properties, building and renovating, land holdings, and property development. From a young age, he spent the summers helping his father in the family-owned and operated custom home-building business. He did not like the physical side of home building so decided to try his luck in sales. He worked his way to the top of the sales force at high-end retail stores.
After learning sales skills he decided to go back to his roots and sell houses. With this experience, he has gained a vast understanding of the real estate business from the ground up. Real Estate is his job as well as his passion. He thoroughly enjoys assisting his clients in the Calgary home buying and selling process. Justin has been in sales for 10 years and has been personally investing in real estate for 12 years. His knowledge and experience with different types of Real Estate make him an asset to any transaction.

Colin is an experienced engineering professional with over 20 years of dedicated involvement in the construction industry. His journey from engineering school to active participation in construction projects reflects his passion and commitment to the field.
Background:Starting from his early days in engineering school, Colin's enthusiasm for construction has been evident. He has seamlessly transitioned from academic pursuits to hands-on experiences, including weekend renovations and sales of construction products. His diverse background also includes valuable insights gained from the architectural side of construction.
Over the past decade, Colin has primarily focused on the design aspect of the industry. His expertise extends across a wide range of projects, spanning from luxurious custom builds to efficient inner-city multifamily developments. With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to innovation, Colin has left his mark on projects stretching from Cape Breton to Campbell River.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Colin finds joy in various pursuits. An avid golfer, he relishes the competion sport offers. He also enjoys immersing himself in the tranquility of nature through camping and adventures through traveling. Above all, Colin treasures quality time spent with his family, cherishing every moment shared together.

He handles all financial aspects of the business and project Management such as land acquisition and feasibility for future projects.
